A Weekend with John Sherman |
Weekend events offer the possibility of devoting a longer perior of time to the most intense investigation into the actual truth of your being. The event consists of two meetings with John each day. Check-in is at 10:30 am on Saturday and we start with a period of sitting in silence. The first meeting begins at 11:00 am, followed by a lunch break. The second meeting starts at 4 pm. The weekend ends around 6:00 pm on Sunday.This is a silent event. John recommends that we remain in conversational silence during all day, except during the time of meeting with him. This way, it is possible to avoid all unnecessary distraction and our energy and attention can be fully focused on the investigation. This is a full weekend event. It is not possible to attend individual meetings. The are no more Weekend Events scheduled in 2008 at this point. | Our work is to teach the method of the vichara (self-inquiry) to all who will receive it. The only problem anywhere to be found is the false belief that you are at the mercy of your life, and the only solution is the truth, which is everywhere and always present and self-evident. Ridding oneself of the false is as easy as repeatedly tasting the truth of being here, unmovingly, unchangingly here. This repeated looking directly at oneself is the infallible method of the vichara. Although our meetings are free of charge, they are certainly not free of cost. The money needed for this work must come entirely from the generosity and compassion of those who, like us, have seen for themselves the immense worth of spreading this good news to all humanity.
