Now if you shop online, you can sign up with iGive and have a portion of what you spend at many online stores donated to RiverGanga to support our work. This is a great way to support our work, that costs you nothing.

iGive is an organization that has been active on the web since 1997, organized around the idea of providing an opportunity for businesses to participate in a program where they can make tax-deductible donations to 501(c)3, non-profit corporations like RiverGanga without needing to develop and operate an internal infrastructure to support the program.

The basic idea is simple:

1. You register at iGive providing them with your Name, Email Address and Postal Code, and choosing whether to take a tax deduction for your donations, or to donate anonymously.
    
2. When you are ready to shop online, either use the iGive website as a starting point (you click on the links on the iGive website to go to the store of your choice), or even easier, install one of the many Internet Explorer and Firefox plugins that automatically recognize when you are at a store that is part of the iGive program.
    
3. Actually, there is no Step 3. Once you complete the registration, anything you purchase online at a store that is part of the iGive program will result in some percentage of your purchase price being donated to RiverGanga to help support our work. This will cost you nothing, and no increase will be applied to the price of what you buy. Remember though that you have to either go to the store from the iGive website, or install the plugins to your browser.

We have been registered and approved to receive donations through iGive since 2003. Over the years, iGive has become easier to navigate, and once you are registered there are plugins available for most modern browsers which allow you to use iGive very easily.

We do our own online shopping through iGive, and we have verified that RiverGanga actually receives donations in this way.

So please consider trying iGive. It is a really great way to provide some financial support for our work and it is completely free of charge to you.
