Dear friends,

I'm writing to all of you today, as I do every year around this time, to ask for the money we need to continue our work.  We need to raise $56,500 to cover our expenses over the next twelve months.

We know how tough these times are, and if you are having trouble making ends meet in your own life now, please just ignore the rest of this letter and accept our love and gratitude. Your continuing presence and participation in this adventure are far more important to us than money.

But if you can do so without inflicting hardship on youself and your family, please consider helping us continue to bring to humanity the incredible promise that resides in the simple movement of attention to the actual experience of one's own self.

Our work is to communicate to the broadest possible audience the suggestion that the simple act of trying to see directly with the inner eye of attention just what it feels like to be you — nothing special, just what you might call the you-ness of you — can bring about a profound change in the relationship with life from one of fear and distrust to the natural state of sanity: settled and at home in life, safe and secure, whole at last.

I believe that this suggestion is so simple, and so plainly harmless, that if we can just express it directly and simply enough, anyone who hears it will naturally try to do it.  It requires neither new understandings and beliefs nor the abandonment of old understandings and beliefs; it requires nothing but to do it. I am convinced that anyone who tries will succeed.  And in the end, they will find themselves unexpectedly in love with their lives — alert, alive, cheerfully willing, and fruitfully engaged in living.

All of our public events, all retreats and intensives, and all meetings of any kind with me, public or private, online or in-person, are always entirely free of charge.

We have nothing in the way of endowments, trust funds, or grants. We rely solely on your donations to finance and sustain our work.

RiverGanga Foundation is a not-for-profit, 509(a)(2) public charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code.

All donations are tax deductible for US residents as charitable contributions.

Please help us if you can. No amount is too small.

Thank you all for all that you do.  I am very grateful.

in love,
John Sherman
